Junior News

The Junior School recently focused on Healthy Bodies.  This topic was aligned with a Visual Art unit about Fruit and Vegetable People.

The unit included an artist study about Giuseppe Arcimboldo who uses fruit and vegetables to create portraits of people.  The Wesley students also used fruit and vegetables in the medium of vivid and dye.

Learning Outcomes

The Year 2 and 3 students focused on Giuseppe Arcimboldo’s work and why he works in that particular style.  The Year 0 and 1 students learnt to talk about their artwork and what fruit and vegetables are used to construct it.  All students formed the shape of a person in vivid and dye using fruit and vegetable forms.

The students produced some amazing artwork from this unit.  Have a look and see!

Room 8 student’s had their work photographed by Siosifa, Year 2 who did a great job with the camera.
